It’s been a while since I went through the trouble to see how my Prosper portfolio is doing, so here it is.
I use Excel’s XIRR function and count all loans 1 month late or more as having $0 loan value, 17 loans.
XIRR (ROI) = 8.06%
Average Loan Age = 511 days
I was a little surprised that the ROI went up since the last time I calculated it. I’ve had a bunch of loans slip into the death zone since then, but fortunately for me I think it’s because these are older loans for the most part and don’t impact the result as much. I double checked everything too to make sure. No mistakes. Cool.
For reference, here is my historical performance for the past year:
8.06% Sep. 02, 2008
7.88% Jun. 18, 2008
7.90% Apr. 24, 2008
7.76% Feb. 04, 2008
8.42% Dec. 11, 2007
8.18% Nov. 16, 2007
7.80% Oct. 09, 2007
Pretty stable. Cool…
And for my next trick, I will attempt to pull a rabbit out of my magic hat…

Thanks for the update! With all the gloom and doom we read about it being impossible for lenders to make a respectable return, it's good see a lender with a significant investment experience success here.
Your Prosper portfolio is beating the socks off my stock portfolio these past two years.
Thank you!
My Prosper investment and cash investments are the only things propping up my entire investment portfolio at the moment. Asset allocation at its finest... :)
