Prosper Days 2008 Recap - Part 1

Part 1 - Introduction

So I've finally recovered from Prosper's Prosper Days 2008 conference held this week in their hometown of San Francisco, California.

(Well, I haven't completely recovered, but recovered enough to at least type without wearing out my backspace key.)

In short, it was a great time. I had the chance to see some folks I met last year at PD07 and meet some new personalities in person for the first time. We ate, we drank, we talked and had lots of fun - all while there was some pesky conference going on in the background...

Ok, ok. There were some very significant things I took away from the PD08 conference as well.

So, where do I start?

As I started putting my thoughts together, I realized my PD08 recap would be just waaay too long for the average chimp's attention span, and too long for even the most addicted Prosper die hard. Plus, by the time I finished the whole thing, it would be approaching PD09, which would defeat the purpose of writing anything at all.

So I've decided to split up my recap of PD08 into many different posts as I can get around to writing them. I've created a handy little label on my humble blog called "Prosper Days 2008", which you should be able to click somewhere on the right (you'll see the "chimps" label there too) to get all the posts related to this series (as long as they've been posted). Of course, there will be other non-PD08 related posts scattered along the way (such as the Warm n Fuzzy Index reading). And please remember that just because I didn't specifically cover something in a recent post does not mean it won't be covered in a later post down the road as I get to hashing this out.

Hopefully (within the year :D ), I'll be able to get to everything I'd like to write about. So what, I'm a bad blogger. I don't even have any freakin' ads on this thing. But that's ok - I think only 3 people read it anyway... :P

So, here we go...

Part 2 - What happened to Groups?
Part 3 - Social Capital
Part 4 - Social Capital, the data
Part 5 - Tapping into Social Capital
Part 6 - High ROI Lender Panel
Part 7 - Viability of Prosper
Part 8 - Collections
Part 9 - Dissapointments

Well, I'm one of the three. :) I look forward to your PD reports!

Don't worry about the ads too much...it took me about six months before I got around to GoogleAds and it's a rare day when someone clicks on an ad.

Type away. I am sure chimps type faster than humans.

1. No Prosper Days 2008 label.

2. Enough with the preamble, get to the conference already!

3. Get your buddies to help. With enough chimps on keyboards, the collected works of Chris Larsen can't be too far behind.
